Fulfilling a Childhood Dream
LIVE had the pleasure of interviewing LaDonna Cook, a hard working mother of two that has taken her passion to the next level. As Program Coordinator of the Mission Services for Goodwill's Richmond Hill Job Connection, she inspires others on a daily basis. However, her encouraging words do not end there, she loves creating an atmosphere for learning and growth.
LaDonna’s childhood dream was to become an author, she found her love for words at an early age and started writing poetry as a pre-teen. Reaching her dream, LaDonna self- published her first book, Expressions of the Mind, Body, & Soul. Her book signing was held, October of 2011 in Fayette, Mississippi at the Jefferson County Library. The book consists of collective poetry about love, relationships, spirituality, and encouragement. LaDonna’s motto is, “poetry is an outlet for the heart”. She hopes by reading this book it will enrich your soul.
LaDonna is currently working on her second book to be released mid-2013, which will also be an eclectic look at creative expression in poetry. As a public and motivational speaker, LaDonna’s believes that anyone can always change the situation they are in; it’s all about “being positive and fighting for what one would like to happen”. LaDonna feels that finding her love for words and becoming a writer are her “greatest gifts from God,” she states.
LaDonna’s book, Expressions of the Mind, Body, & Soul can found on Amazon and Barnes and Noble.
